Coming up: Madeline Miller’s Circe

Greek, or Classical, literature, has grown on me over the years since my first brush with The Odyssey in university in 2014.

Fast forward to five years later and I’ve come to the point where I can’t help gushing over this Classical tale.

Madeline Miller’s Circe tells the well-known epic of Circe the nymph, as well as other Ancient mythical figures from Athena to the Minotaur. The catch? Miller retells these stories in an ultra-addictive, contemporary voice that retains a touch of Classical grandeur. The prose is beyond pretty and the storytelling extremely readable. It’s truly one of those rare books that not only preserve but gild ancient tradition.

Having taken on, then elegantly triumphed in such a daunting challenge, it’s no wonder that Circe is a number 1 international bestseller and is shortlisted for the Women’s Prize for Fiction 2019.

If you’d like to read this book along with me, you can get your copy here.

I can’t wait to write my review on this beauty!

Till then, happy reading!
